Public Affairs Consulting

Government Relations: We provide strategy and advocacy services to help clients navigate the complex landscape of government regulations and policies.


SMP Global Consultants partnered with a workforce development and clean energy initiative to design and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy aimed at scaling operations and securing public investment. 


Our team led targeted engagement with city and state officials, aligned the program with key policy priorities, and developed advocacy materials to support funding requests through both discretionary allocations and competitive grant opportunities.


We facilitated high-level meetings with policymakers, positioned the initiative as a critical solution to workforce shortages in the clean energy sector, and guided the client through regulatory and compliance requirements. 


As a direct result of these efforts, the initiative was included in a $27 million public-private investment, enabling the program to expand significantly and train over 2,000 individuals over three years.


Beyond funding, our work established long-term relationships with government stakeholders, creating a sustainable pipeline for future contracts, policy alignment, and continued program growth.

Stakeholder Engagement

Community Engagement: We help clients build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and industry associations.


SMP Global Consultants partnered with a mid-sized construction and energy firm seeking to expand operations in an urban community. Our team developed and executed a comprehensive community engagement strategy that included coordinating meetings with local elected officials, organizing roundtable discussions with community leaders, and building relationships with key industry associations.


Through these efforts, we helped the client gain community buy-in, secure local support, and position themselves as a trusted partner in the neighborhood.

SMP Global Consultants partnered with a multi-site home healthcare provider seeking to strengthen its brand, improve community trust, and expand its client base. We designed a strategic CSR initiative focused on community health access and education, aligning the company’s mission with measurable community impact.


Our team connected the provider with local community organizations, senior centers, and faith-based institutions to host a series of free health screenings, caregiver workshops, and wellness seminars. In addition, we helped the client launch a “Caregiver Support Initiative”, offering resources and training to families caring for elderly loved ones.


This initiative not only positioned the organization as a trusted community partner but also significantly increased visibility and referrals. SMP Global Consultants partnered with a faith-based institution seeking to maximize the value of its underutilized land while staying true to its mission of serving the community. The organization wanted to explore development opportunities but lacked the relationships, structure, and technical expertise to move the project forward.


Our team structured a public-private partnership by identifying and vetting a qualified real estate developer, aligning the church’s vision with a financially viable development plan, and facilitating engagement with local government agencies to navigate zoning, approvals, and potential incentives.


We brought together key stakeholders, including the faith institution, private developer, community representatives, and government partners, to ensure alignment around both community needs and project feasibility. The result was a mixed-use development that integrated affordable housing above a newly modernized church facility, preserving the institution’s presence while unlocking the value of its land.


This partnership not only created new affordable housing units but also generated a long-term revenue stream for the church, strengthened its role as a community anchor, and demonstrated how mission-driven organizations can leverage public-private partnerships to achieve both economic and social impact.
